Photo night

Thursday night me and Cree went out to shoot some photos for fun. Its been a while since he and I went out to put away a few gigs of photos (7 rolls of film in Cree's case). We hit up this public park by cree's house, where he found an awesome "rocket ship" play set and a old school 'merry-go-round'. Keeping your shutter open for 30 seconds over and over again really drains your battery. With the help of Keola and his girlfriend Lilly, we got some pretty cool "space shots"

I brought out my 'lensbaby' which i havent used in a while, you can see the distortion around the focal point.
another lensbaby shot of the rocket ship
We wrapped keola and Lilly in aluminum foil and brought out the props to make true use of the rocket ship in the background. These pics came out pretty cool.. looks like it could be an album cover for an 'electric pop-rock' band.

this pic came out pretty cool, i think it came out just like how i was thinking.
its hard to make out Keola down there, but its him.

bye to my best man

My friend of 12 years just moved away today. We spent his last nights at his 'in-laws' house playing Wii and hanging out.

Beer and Cheese Balls were served ala carte

Talon is good at bowling
Chaz is good at Bape-ing
Chaz was bringing his mad 'quick hands' approach to the Wii matches.
It was no suprise that I didnt stand a chance.
Before Talon said his final goodbyes.. they played a quick game of "Grabasstica" also known as 'grappling'

2:00 a.m. we played out our final late night game.
honestly, it was kind of wierd saying good bye to chaz. It really didnt feel real that he was actually moving until the final 45 seconds of the night when i was about to leave his house. It's then when I got real sad, but I didnt want to get into an emotional conversation with him, as I didnt wanna damage his nice wood flooring with my tears. So we just said "I'll call ya soon" and shook hands and gave a quick hug. I can let out some of my emotions in this blog though, cause I know there are only 5 or so people who actually check this thing, chaz being one of them.

It's kind of wierd knowing that your best friend of 12+ years, is about to be out of range of physical contact. Chaz was one of those friends that I still stayed in contact with after high school, not one of those friends who "oh, he's changed" and so on. We still hung out weekly and had our normal 'hang-out' routines. Chaz was the 'best man' at my wedding, and I was the 'best man' at his. We have absolutely shared the finest moments of our lives together, and now with both of us being married and being fathers, he moves on to the upper-west coast of america to try and make a better living for him and his family... much respected. Chaz I will truly miss you, and wish all the best for you, tanya, and dorian. Give Washington a shot, and know that if you ever need to come home, we'll all be here for you. Definetely hope to see you sooner than later! Road trip =)

Here's a photo from one of the best times in my life, 1998 i think. Me and Chaz met up with Kelley in california for a week full of Disney and beyond. most awesome...

"Cool runnings!" .. (peace be the journey) ha.

wedding shoot

Im also an Assistant wedding photographer for Dave Miyamoto and Co. This past week I had the pleasure of shooting a wonderful couple from the mainland, Brian and Mary Lou. It was a beautiful wedding at the "Bayer Estates". If you wanna check out more wedding stuff, go to davemiyamoto.com !

here's some of my shots from the wedding

North shore search for sun.

Me and sam went up to the north shore in search of some sunshine. We ended up at "Lani's" and it looked promising at first, some good sun, waves looked good too. But that only lasted about 30 minutes, then the clouds came out and it got windy.
Lani's looked a bit windy but ok. I didnt go out
Avalanches looked pretty good, but kinda inconsistent. i didnt go out.
"Lanikea's"
So instead of surfing mediocre waves, I stayed on the shore and took pictures of awesome little waves again!

We then went into classic haleiwa town to get lunch and do some shopping.

we hit the normal spots of course!
one of the stores had a bunch of photo's for sale by photographer, Clark Little. Clark is by far my favorite water/surf photographer... i definetely recommend looking up his stuff. His dad is the photography teacher at LCC too, fun stuff.
The 'bible man' was preaching again at the bus stop by Storto's. He had an assistant this time, doing back-up preaching with him.
I think earlier they did some graffiti on this verizon ad. "Satan is FAG".. hilarious!
I had Storto's of course for lunch. Had the 'Waimea' with everything and 1000 island dressing.
Sam chose to get italian.
Over $10 for lasagna served on a styrofoam plate!! gimme a break!
We did manage to score this shirt for Bella at that kid store in haleiwa... $5 deal! and....
it glows in the dark!!! saweetness.
