Bella on the Tracks

Yes, I'm going to be one of those dads who has a million pictures of their kid. Yes, I'm going to try and embarrass Bella every chance I get. I will chaperone her first date, haha.
Anyway, the other day, our family went to go visit the Motz family out in Ewa Beach. After we left Cameron's house, we drove around looking for places to hang out and take some pictures. We stopped by the train tracks in Ewa and took some quick photos of Bella. Bella is really awesome at not being natural. She hates smiling for pictures, she doesn't even like making funny faces. She does not like being in pictures, how ironic.

I guess this is as 'natural' as it'll get for now.
This is Isabella's idea of making "funny faces"... yeah, check the top right one. funny

Analog Sunshine Recorders: Slow Jams, The Pinhole Edition

Hi Gang, now hear this;
Me and friends, who are more talented than I am, are putting together another "Analog Sunshine Recorders" show.
You may remember the last Analog Sunshine Recorders show that was at The Manifest. Yes, the infinite color labyrinth that was blasted on the wall at Manifest. Well, another show is about to happen at 39 Hotel.

This new show is prepared to rape your retinas.
"The Analog Sunshine Recorders are a collective of
photographers outfitted with homemade, low-tech, and DIY cameras.
With our little boxes of air we record what we find on a spectrum of
analog emulsions. We set out to explore, understand, and celebrate the
world around us by seeing it through a camera that celebrates the
photographic mediums historic foundations. In this selection of pinhole
camera images we highlight film-based photography and show the potential of
simplicity."

INFO: happening. Friday February 4th at 5:00pm. @ 39Hotel. (yes, this is First Friday, so do make sure you get there early to enjoy the artwork.)

Family day at the bay.

Sunday, I got to borrow Dave's underwater housing, so I figured we'd make it a beach day and try and get some photos. We actually went to mokuleia first (because I wanted to surf), but the weather turned real bad quick. The sky got wet and the clouds covered the entire north shore. We drove up to Ehukai to see if there was anything going on up there, but nothing exciting was happening. By then the weather cleared up a bit, so we went back down to Waimea for a quick swim. The shorebreak looked kinda fun, all though the winds were on shore and conditions bogus, I figured i'd at least jump in the water to take some pictures. Since it didnt look like i was gonna be able to get any epic wave pictures, i tried to get creative and shoot everything at f-2.8 in hopes to get at least one good picture with a cool abstract depth of field. Well, I didn't get anything good... but here are the pictures me and sam took at the beach.
Bella
Chris and Kara came and joined us for bad weather festivities.
The sun peeked out a little at times.
I got in the water with Chris

Sam stayed on the sand with Bella. She got a couple pictures of me playing in the water..
i think this is the picture of me taking the picture below this one...
I'm pretty sure (according to time stamp) this is that same wave as above.
DOF
I got a little bent on a couple mini pounders. that was pretty fun actually.
I like the comb-forward look, bubble nose.

Bella, she wants to get crazy in the shorebreak already
